Get ready for a fun-filled evening at our beloved Jones Spring Fling! Enjoy activities, delicious food trucks, live entertainment, and carnival-style games hosted by our classrooms. Event entry and many activities are free. Game tickets and wristbands can be purchased on-site or in advance online (see complete details at the bottom of this page).

WHEN: Friday, May 16, from 5-7:30 pm.
WHERE: In the Grades 3-5 field and staff parking lot behind Ira B. Jones Elementary, off Kimberly Avenue. (In the event of rain, we’ll move activities into our gym and cafeteria to continue the event indoors.)
PARKING: Guests may park in the kindergarten lot in front of the school or utilize nearby street parking (including along Kimberly Avenue), where permitted. Note there will be NO parking in the Jones staff parking lot closest to the Spring Fling field, behind the cafeteria. This area will be part of the event footprint and will be used for our food vendors and dunk tank.
TO EAT: Food available for purchase will include dinner and dessert options from Jamaican Flavors, Island Food Truck, Cream Works, Chick-fil-A, and Pelican’s SnoBalls.
TO DO & SEE: Games and activities include a dunk tank, fairy hair, yard games, temporary tattoos, face-painting, and much more! Entertainment includes balloon artists, the WNC Nature Center, and the Adventure Center of Asheville.
GAME TICKET SALES: Most carnival games and activities cost between 1 and 3 tickets. Tickets are 2 for $1, 11 for $5, or 22 for $10 when purchased at the event with cash. You can also purchase tickets onsite via PayPal or Venmo (11 for $6 or 22 for $11*) or buy online in advance (22 for $11) and pick them up at the Will Call tent at the event, under the buyer’s last name.
NEW THIS YEAR: WRISTBANDS! We’re introducing wristbands as a convenient alternative to tickets. With a wristband, kids can enjoy unlimited participation at most booths throughout the event. A few special activities – such as the bake sale, face-painting, and fairy hair – will be limited to one visit per child per wristband. Wristbands are $20 when purchased at the event with cash, or $21 when purchased via PayPal, Venmo, or online*. You can buy wristbands onsite, or purchase them online in advance and pick them up at the Will Call tent under the buyer’s last name.
*A small fee is added to all non-cash payments (for both tickets and wristbands) to cover processing fees charged by PayPal and Venmo.
